The Main Event!
Are you longing for some inspiration to create a fine art look for your portrait photography? This workshop is designed to focus on the creative process, imaginative costume & background ideas, set design, posing, lighting, and other special effects.
Heather will lead you through all the steps. You will participate in the creation of two specific wardrobe choices for two different aged models, learn how to select the perfect background for each outfit, explore creative ways to use lighting and smoke, and so much more! All of this is done within a reasonable budget using items you may already own, or those things that are relatively inexpensive to purchase.
The workshop is designed for all levels of photographic skill. Plus it’s going to be so much FUN!
What to Bring!
Your fully charged camera with a memory card and a couple of favorite lenses. You will have the opportunity for some hands-on shooting time! Heather will be using Nanlite constant lighting so everyone with different camera brands can participate.
You may also want to bring a notepad and pen for taking notes and jotting down some of the many inspiring ideas throughout the afternoon.

Optional Meal at Pappasito's Mexican Cantina!
If you’d like to extend your afternoon, we invite you to join us for dinner afterwards at Pappasito's. The restaurant is located adjacent to Comfort Suites. This will be dinner and/or drinks on your own, but we will enjoy lively conversation together about the events of the day! If you wish to participate, please let us know at the beginning of the workshop so we can make reservations to include you.
We will also be offering you the additional opportunity to attend a post-production editing workshop led by Heather Harvey. This will take place on Saturday, July 19th at Arlington Camera from Noon until 3pm. The cost for the editing workshop will be $50. You’ll be able to speak with Heather to see if this is a good choice you’re your needs and skill level. This optional portion of the workshop is focused exclusively on post-production editing of your workshop images in Photoshop. The class size is limited so that you can receive the most from Heather’s instruction.
About the Artist:
Heather Harvey is a local, highly accomplished professional photographer with a successful studio, Heather Harvey Photography, located in Mansfield, Texas. She specializes in creative and fine art photography and her work is filled with whimsy and delight! Heather has a lot of joy and love for teaching others about her creative process and techniques. This desire to instruct and share ideas is what makes her workshops so meaningful to attend!
In the process of earning her credentials of Master Photographer, Master Artist, and Master Craftsman Heather has gained invaluable photographic ability, technical insight and knowledge. She is always happy to teach you and answer your questions so you will gain the knowledge and inspiration to create your own unique images!
